I have downloaded and installed everything that the software asked me to install. Went through the Job set up (Followed direction step for step...I think) and started the conversion (AVI to DVD). A lot of activity takes place in a DOS window and then the DOS window closes with a error message in a test box. "FILE ACCESS DENIED". No other explanation or file definition given.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Confused

Please post a "MediaInfo" report on your video file.
Please post the Avi2dvd log file, if created.
Please advise what files were left in the Avi2dvd_temp folder.
Please give details of your computer, operating system, version and your administrators rights.
What version of Dvd2Avi are you using?
Have you followed the "name and location" protocols to ensure rouge characters are not included in the file name or path?
Have you used the windows "compatibility mode" for any of the programs used?

Have a look at some of the other posts to see what is required, not forgetting to read similar topics.

The more information you give, the greater the chance of identifying the problem.

Good luck.

MKV files are a container for different component streams, and in your case the audio stream is DTS, and here is where the error occurred.

"Fixed_Audio01 1kb"

I would suggest converting the DTS stream to AC3, then re-mux to form a more compliant MKV.

Unless you want all 3 subtitles hardcoded onto the video, you should extract them and not include them in the re-muxed MKV.

If you wish to keep the subtitles, then you should convert them to SRT using "Subtitle Workshop" and import them into Avi2Dvd during the set up.

Here is a link that may be of some use: http://www.trustfm.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2302&highlight=dts

If the above is of any use please let us know, good luck.

Further the frame rate is shown as 24 FPS, this will cause problems, please see http://www.trustfm.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2518

My original reply has been lost, possibly during the change of server.

I do not know if you read it or not, but the jist was you should rename the file to remove the "full stop" between Robin and Williams. Further you should place the file in the main internal hard drive. "J:\... " usually indicates an external usb hard drive or flash drive.

You did not say if you wished to convert it to PAL (25 fps) from the NTSC (29.97 fps). If you do then you will have further problems. Try and obtain a "IVTC" NTSC (23.976 fps) version or a PAL version.

Please try the above and report back the outcome.

Good luck.
