How to solve audio problems with *.mov files

Postby trustfm » Sun Nov 14, 2010 11:31 pm

Some mov files when you load them on foto2avi play but they have no sound.
the easiest way to solve this problem is to convert your mov files to avi using the ffmpeg that is already included at foto2avi package.
Lets assume that you have installed foto2avi at
F:\Program Files\Foto2Avi\
Now go to your mov files that you want to convert
lets say they are located D:\Data\mymov.mov
In the folder D:\Data\ you create a new txt file (right click , new , new notepad document) and write in it the following command :

"F:\Program Files\Foto2Avi\Programs\ffmpeg\ffmpeg.exe" -i mymov.mov -vcodec copy -acodec libmp3lame -f avi myfinal.avi

Now we rename the txt file to bat file (ex conversion.bat)
Now doubleclick the bat file and your conversion will be made.
The D:\Data\myfinal.avi will be generated within some seconds.

Please notice that with this method you loose in audio quality only. The video remains intact.
Now you can load the myfinal.avi to foto2avi without any problems

Please use simple names (without spaces) for the mov and avi files

Speaking of Audio, you can increase the volume of the movie by using this command in the script just given:

-vol 10000

a value of 2000 would hardly be noticeable but 10000 will greatly increase the volume. Experiment to see what sounds best
