Duration Issues

Postby a16vuu » Wed May 14, 2008 11:07 pm

Hi people, i have a 4 second avi file that i want to make any length - let say 16 secs so i set the desired duration under the options for the video, the duration shows as 16 seconds in the bottom right , i hit generate and it outputs the original 4 second clip  - Help!

I have tried and tried and i just cannot get the duration to work - am i being thick? :D

I'm no expert but I thought I'd jump in here anyway :)

The Duration can be LESS than the clip's full length but not longer, as you found out. But you can add the "Same" movie clip 4 times and get the 16 seconds you need (4 * 4 seconds = 16)

If you had wanted 10 seconds, you'd add it 3 times, the first 2 would be left at 4 seconds but you'd change the last movie clip's Duration to 2 seconds

This works with sounds too, if the length of the sound is too short for your needs, do the same thing as above

this info is correct. Do you need a slow down function ? this will be added in newer versions anyway ...

Got Round It

Postby a16vuu » Wed May 21, 2008 4:26 pm

I actually got round it by capturing the first frame of the looped avi animation that i wanted as 16secs and loading it as a jpeg image - i could then set the duration to what i wanted and when its pieced together with the rest of the animations you cant tell :D 8)
